Coming from WordPress, obviously the best sample content to begin building the b2evo site is actual content from a real site. Found instructions for importing from WordPress, but kept getting file extension errors when uploading the WP export file. Turns out the reason was that there is no XML file type listed in the b2evo install by default.

Error Received: http://prntscr.com/bq2u1y

The import functionality is built into b2evo, and states that XML files can be accepted, but until you manually add the file type under Files -> Settings -> File Types it can't be uploaded for use or storage. This is absolute must for b2evo's core. Kind of like giving someone ice cream without the cone (a mess in their hands).

Here is how I added the file type (limited to admins only, of course): http://prntscr.com/bq2y1u

Lol!

Thanks for the suggestion. We'll add that to the next release.

I should also note, once the file type was added, the WP import process finally worked, and was surprisingly smooth. Probably the best importer of another CMS's content I've seen yet. Definite +1.

Thanks.

XML type has been added by default in b2evolution 6.7.5.
