When I turned on the Show Containers it lists a container Item Single Header with each post with nothing in it. Under the widgets page there are widgets without content, which os Okay but no Item Single Header.

Also, the sidebars are not showing. I'm doing everything through my iPhone and I am not using a mobile skin so what I see is what a desktop user would see? I suspect the desktop users are seeing a single column also.

It's nowhere ready to make public but here is what I have so far.

EDITED: I checked it out on a desktop and it has the two columns. I do not know why it is single column on my phone. I know it was two columns on my iPhone while evaluating 6.8.8 the week before last. But now I'm working with 6.8.9.

EDITED-2: I was able to force the iPhone to display the page with a fixed width of 1024 by adding the following meta data to the HTML HEAD: <meta name="viewport" content="width=1024,user-scalable=no" />. Added the meta data tag to the BLOG>Settings>Advanced>Skin & style>Custom meta tag/css section. Just need to do something similar for the back-end/admin. I would still like to know about the Item Single Header container and how to get content in it. Possibly to show a date that corresponds with the calendar plug-in.

No, the layout adapts to the size of the screen. It's called Responsive Web Design (RWD).

You're going backwards against history. The whole web community has put great efforts to make content display in a way that doesn't require constant pinch-and-zoom on mobile phones.

It is not mandatory to have widgets in there. I you want to have some that make sense, pick some widgets from the section "Info about a specific Item".

I may remove the fixed width and return to RWD when I get a mobile skin for the iPhone horizontal resolution to work to my pleasing. Thanks for the direction. However I think that when the Item Single Header had no widgets included I pressed the Reload Containers and it disappeared as well as several others that were not in the skin and empty of widgets. Forgive me if I'm not using the jargon correctly. Is there a way to get the container to show on the Widgets tab again?

Containers restored. Changed by blog to a forum, changed the skin to the bootstrap_forum and the missing containers were recreated. I the changed it back to a blog.

End of problems!

When you reload containers it will show you only the containers of your current skin and will remove all the containers that are not actually supported by your current skin.
