Interesting...

This makes me think of two things. First, it sounds like you're asking for the ability to easily clip someone else's image. OTOH there are lots of places where images online are okay to grab for personal use so I guess its a neat idea.

Second, I thought wouldn't it be cool if there was a "browse" button on the posting page. So that one could write a post, browse to a file on their computer, then when the post is saved it attaches the image to the post the way it does when you make an image be a post. Quite the time saver there eh?

That's a good idea. It would take blogging one step closer to "Easy as writing an email". Eventually it could support the same function for other types of media as well.

Plus the file upload system is not exactly the best in class. Who needs the extra step anyway?
