Request abuse update from centralized blacklist!

When I
[Request abuse update from centralized blacklist!]

The update shows:
Latest update timestamp: 2004-11-25 20:10:59

That date sounds kind of old. Am I getting the latest update?

Plus everytime I click the link to get the abuse update, more domains are added?
Is it doing the same update over and over again, or are new domains coming in all the time.?

You have to click the abuse update over and over again (zillion times it seems) till it is showing the date of today (today the list gets updated)
it is indeed adding domains everytime to click on it.

another question,

by updating the black list,
does it block this referrer spam from my server, or just from my blog.

The problem is it is putting a heavy load on my server

the blacklist only purpose is to filter those domains out of your statistics and forbid them to make comments.
the bandwidth you loose with those guys is not cured by the blacklist.
Therefore you will have to 'play' with your .htaccess file (do a search, there are a couple of good treaths on this forum)
