Hello all,

several users of my blog (b2evo, Dawn release), are complaining about the following bug when posting a comment.
When they are typing this :


This is the beginning of the comment <- that was the beginning
This is the rest of the comment.


Only the following is appearing on the page after validation :


This is the beginning of the comment


I think that the "<-" is probably seen as the beginning of a HTML tag, and thus the following appears as not valid.
But i think that "<-" is pretty common, for example to designate the beginning of a line.

What do you think about it ? Is it a "feature" or should we call this a bug ?

The validator is seeing that as an attempt to start an html tag. The easier workaround is to replace the less than sign with

&lt;

Ok, but i was thinking of a more "in depth" solution.
Indeed I will put "&lt;" but not people posting comments on my blog...
So that is only a temporary solution I think. We should try to solve this globally for b2evolution. I really have no time for that now, but i will try to do something in that direction.
If someone has other ideas...
