I'm not sure if this has been improved in the 1.x series but under 0.9.2:

When the b2e system generates a permalink for a new post it ends posts with an underscore like so:

"sample_title_is_too_" for a post-title that goes by: Sample Title is Too Long.

Now when we edit the post and saved it, the last underscore in the permalink gets cancelled by the system and thus resulting in a change of post URL/permalink.

I am raising this because the permalink change can be felt when the post was dugged to digg and digg-clone social-networking-bookmark services.

I'd like to make a suggestion other than the fixing of the initial creation of the permalink (which leaves a trailing underscore).

Maybe, if there's a change in the permalink, the b2e system should show a search result for the closest match.
