.flv files 'can only' be played by a .swf file, in which you need flash 8 pro to create a flash player.

There is a 'attach flash' plugin floating around somewhere and you will either need to create your own player or find one, then attach the flash file like so;
http://domain.com/mydir/flvplayer.swf?movie=urltoflvfile
