2.4.1

I run a political blog that can get quite busy and am considering using a static html page for my index at least through the election.

I have no problems creating the static page

but would like to include a post listing from my main blog, either as the main post or on the sidebar Similar to the post listing widget... something that could update from the code and would not require me to recreate the static page.

I don't mind creating the new static when my projections change... but I don't want to be doing it everytime a new post appears (especially when I am not the only poster on the site).

I am wondering if the code for the post listing widget is available somewhere... I checked through the plugins folder but couldn't find it.

Not sure if I would have to use rss code and if I do what is currently recommended in 2.4.X....

any help would be appreciated....
