I'm making a complete new install with 1.8 - I'm very happy with my existing 0.9.1 but I was lured by the shiny new features.

The blank installation worked fine. I created two test blogs with dummy data on top of A and B, and named them 'news' and 'events' respectively. From then on things went wrong. The default blog will display, but the other one will not. Either one can be default, as set in the options. but whichever one is set for default, selecting the other blog brings up "404 Not Found b2evolution cannot resolve the requested URL."

The default blog is at http://countrysidemanagement.org.uk/news/index.php

I have the list of blogs enabled so the other blog can be selected. Go and try it if you like. You'll notice that the url also the 'events' blog http://countrysidemanagement.org.uk/news/index.php/b
and not, as I expected, http://countrysidemanagement.org.uk/news/index.php/events

I have not yet started messing with the code so I'm mystified as to what to do next. Your advice requested.

That's odd...Your linkblog and All blog show up fine. Those are alternative blogs just like your "b" blog. I can also type in http://countrysidemanagement.org.uk/news/index.php/a and the "a" blog shows up fine. So I'm figuring something weird is going on in your "b" blog config. What sort of settings do you have for that one?

Ok, a bit hard to transcribe but I'll give you the settings in the B blog "Blog URL parameters" for a start:

Blog Folder URL:
Relative to baseurl: http://countrysidemanagement.org.uk/news/ [blank box]

Preferred access type:
Explicit reference on index.php

URL blog name: events

URL preview:

http://countrysidemanagement.org.uk/news/index.php/b (but see below)

But whilst doing this I've noticed something very odd which may be entirely unconnected with my problem - on page load the URL preview reads "http://countrysidemanagement.org.uk/news/index.php/b". However as soon as I click on the text of "Explicit reference on index.php", in this case to cut and paste it for your entertainment, the preview changes to "http://countrysidemanagement.org.uk/news/index.php/events", even though I have not changed the radio buttons. Neither of these URLs work.

As this is not a working blog I would be willing to grant admin privileges to someone who might be willing to have a look for me.

Thanks Nate for your help so far.

Hmm. If I put in http://countrysidemanagement.org.uk/news/index.php?blog=3 I can see the blog in question, so it exists and works. It's just messing up with the "b" and "events" naming when you use extra path info, it seems. I'm not sure where the "b" is coming from since you have renamed the blog to "events", but you might search around and find where the blog is called "b" and change that to "events" as well.
