Looks to me that it's B2 ... "cafelog", which *I believe* is the progenetor of b2evolution.

I don't know the history, but it appears there was a split, some time ago, between those developing CafeLog and B2evolution.

HERE is the b2evolution branch.

The site you linked seems to be a version of the other branch ... [url=http://cafelog.com]cafelog[/url]. Better that you follow up with that other branch. (or choose the better of the two ;) )

alright, suppose I use the one here... how can incorporate just that part of the blog in the site and leave the rest out?

Just modify the _main.php file to include as much (or as little) as you want.

(I'm maybe not understanding 100% of your question, but it seems to me that you can control how much, or little, of the blogging .:stuff:. shows, by editing the _main.php file).
