Hi,
I have a multidomain setup which seems to be working correctly from desktop browsers but not from mobiles. I have tested using an iPhone and an iPad; they both show the same behaviour across firefox and Safari.
While on the desktop firefox, a request to AlternativeDomainName results in a correct service from the blog associated with that domain, on the mobile browsers, it does not. The BaseDomainName blog is served instead. Also, on the mobile browser, AlternativeDomainName is replaced with BaseDomainName in the browser navigation bar.

The support people are telling me this behaviour is being caused by b2evo. Can you tell me what is happening?

b2evo v6.7.4 stable at www.gobrach.com and www.visualisetheworld.com

I just tried on my iphone:

  • gobrach.com serves the sunset homepage
  • visualisetheworld.com serves the Touch skin for "Visualise the world"

I don't see any problem. (you may have cached redirects in your apple devices and may need to clear the local cache)

Thanks for looking at it but that is very frustrating! I have checked again with a second iphone and also with a macbook pro, (neither of which have been used to access the site previously) and I get the same erroneous behaviour.

OK! now I can get the browsers to display the correct page. I need to always type in www.domainname.com rather than just domainname.com

Clearly, apple devices don't fix this before making the request but since it is very typical behaviour for people to omit the www (no matter how much anyone might deplore it) can this be fixed in b2evo?

You can fix that on the web server in your .htacess file.

Good point! I've done that and it works fine.
Thanks for the nudge.
