Over the past couple of days I've noticed that when I reply to a comment, the time stamp on my comment is half an hour in advance, so a comment I have just made at 1138 was stamped as 1208.

Does anyone know why this would be happening and what I can do to stop it?

The time of your webserver is probably 30 minutes in advance.

(or you have played with the timezone time difference setting of b2evolution).

What time does b2evolution show in the evobar?

I'm not sure how my webserver can be 30 minutes in advance. I'm based in northwest England and my server is based near London. Yes, until the late ninetheeth century we were on different times, but not now :)

I haven't touched the timezone difference setting--although when I go to Global Settings > Regional and click "calculate time difference" it says -0.29. If I click on save, then my comments are an hour in advance.

I can't see any time displayed in what I think is the Evobar. It's just a series of tabs, with nothing to do with time.

It's just a matter of setting a wrong time by server admin. Look at the evobar in backoffice, it should show you current time on the right hand side.

I didn't notice that you're using an older v3.

Anyway, you can also see current server time in Tools > System

Thanks, but there's no option to change the time there. There are these settings, as text only, with the date only.

Server time
Mon 10th December 2012 - .
GMT / UTC time
Mon 10th December 2012 - .
b2evolution time
Mon 10th December 2012 - .

It doesn't matter, I'll just imagine I'm in a new time zone in the North Sea somewhere between Hull and the Friesen Islands :)

Do you mean that there's no time shown? Ask you host to synchronize server time and/or play with b2evo time difference setting.

Yes, you're right, there's just a hyphen where I'd expect the time to be. I'll try messing with b2e's time difference setting first.

You may have to contact server support, there's definitely something wrong if you only see a hyphen

That's great-thanks sam2kb. I contacted my host and they've corrected it.

Strange how it suddenly slipped 30 minutes fast. I could understand an hour, since that's an adjacent time zone, or maybe even the half hour segments used in India, but not GMT +30 minutes.

Thanks for your help again.

If the difference was not hourly, it's probably that they set the time manually instead of synced timezone
