can i deactivate the comments & trackbacks feature ?

Hi, can i deactivate the comments & trackbacks feature ?

I get 100s of spam every day, supposedly handled by blacklist but it doesnt stop it.

tried allsorts of advice i found here in forum previously but still getting hammered.

If i can remove comment/trackback could you tell me how to do it.

You can activate/deactivate comments for all posts or on individual posts basis by making the settings from within your Admin area.

Head to Blog Settings>Click on the Blog you want>Advanced Tab>Feedback options

Trackbacks can also be disabled from within the same admin area

This is no longer valid in 0.9 release, anyone have any ideas how to disable comments?

Technically speaking "it is now valid but was not valid back when 0.9.* releases were current" is a better way to put it. The only way you can do it for older releases is to disable comments on each post as you make the post.

BTW you really should upgrade to at least 0.9.2. If not I hope you installed the XML-RPC patch that affected all releases prior to 0.9.1!!!
