Check your server logs for any php errors. It looks like some errors are getting generated but displaying errors is turned off in your servers php.ini (it should be) so you need to check the server logs.

Disable your gallery plugin ;)

This is what firebug returns and it brings me to the gallery plugin...

I found a workaround in the gallery_plugin thread but it will not work for me... it takes many seconds until i get a dialog to stop a script. after this there is my webpage but no lightbox...

the curious thing is http://farewell-martina.de is on the same server, with exactly the same configuration and it works without problems...

any other ideas?

Unfortunately the gallery plugin on 1.10 is no longer supported. The only guy that can help you rarely visits the forums.
You may consider upgrading to B2evo 2.4.2 which has the Gallery2 plugin that comes with excellent support. You'll need to redo your galleries for that.
