My b2evolution Version: 2.x

Hello,

Is there any widget to display the list of most view articles ?

Not sure. If no one says "yes there is I wrote it a long time ago and I feel sad that you aren't aware of it" then I'll write one.

Oh wait yes there is, but the author said he needed to totally overhaul it because it is a resource hog because it doesn't catch ... er ... cache stuff. So every page load it queries the mouth-breathing snot out of your database.

So let's see if someone else came up with something cool else I'll be happy to try. Specially after the "make notepad++ be super cooler than ever" link :)

IIRC; there was sth like, Bueno's hot topics or summat, and there is a plugin that sam2kb created, one of these two might help

Other than those, looking at this

you can customize the post list widget to sort by views using sth like;

'orderby' => ( $this->disp_params[ 'orderby' ] ? $this->disp_params[ 'orderby' ] : 'views' )

and of course you must have known of that, for those who doesnt you can simply -temporarily- view posts by view count using:

http://www.domain.com/index.php?blog=1&orderby=views&order=DESC

beano's Hot Topics at http://wonderwinds.com/hackblog.php/2008/03/01/hot-topics-plugin-v2-of-course is all about comment activity. Not sure which sam2kb plugin you're thinking of, but my first thought was the ministats plugin at http://plugins.b2evolution.net/index.php/2006/11/14/mini_stats_1 which I'm pretty sure was described by the author as a resource hog.

If the post list widget can do this then that's a miss in the post list widget - it should be a dropdown selectable in your widget settings! (adding this to my folder of posts about widgets that need fixing...)

Does anybody plan to write a plugin for this?
