Trouble with comment notifications and utf8

My b2evolution Version: Not Entered

I have 2.4.2-stable-2008-04-27 successfully installed with utf-8. Have been using it since August. Post titles and entries are successfully bilingual in Russian and English. However, when I receive e-mail notifications of comments on blogs, all the Russian characters are replaced by question marks. I'm thinking something is wrong with the mail headers used by send_mail(), but I'll be damned if I can figure out what it is. Can anyone either a) tell me how to fix this or b) post a link to a \inc\comments\model\_comment.class.php file that is successfully handling utf-8 notifications?

I'd be much obliged. I've read through the mail() entries in the PHP manual. All my attempts failed. I tried to adjust things in _comment.class.php, but failed there as well.

I'm not sure if email sending were upgraded to recognize UTF-8 yet, haven't tracked unicode for sometime.

Try to use UTF-7 for emails.
