So I'm upgrading core files again. If you subscribe to blog X and it gets posts aggregated into it from blog Y and blog Y gets a post you should get notified. That is *done*. To test it I fired up IE and started subscribing. Only thing is it told me I wasn't subscribed to the blog I just subscribed to. WTF?!?!?!?!?!
The use of ?!?! indicates both shock and surprise mixed with confusion and anger. Cute eh? Kinda like a kitten on meth.
So WHY OH WHY does showing me if I am subscribed to a blog require that the blog be in the public blog list?
Dig. I'm on a blog that aggregates other content and is in the public blog list. I click through to a permalink. I choose to subscribe. It offers to let me subscribe to the blog I'm now on. I check the box and hit submit. It says I got updated, but the damned box is not checked.
That kitten doesn't look so cute now eh? Teeth fallin' out and can't get a job cuz of the unfortunate history from being caught on the wrong side of the law so has to resort to prostitution and politics to make a buck and all :(
Oh well. It kinda sucks but I should be used to this. Stumbling across multiple issues when actually addressing one simple need: subs notification through aggregation.
