should i be seeing "nofollow" or "follow" meta tags in the view source code from the browser?
im not seeing any meta tags as regards robots on any of my 5 blogs running on the same server.
The 'nofollow' tag in this context is found on an actual link within the page body, not as a meta tag. So look for this:
rel="nofollow"
i went for the meta code posted in the html_header code.
working with no index/follow for the front page of each blog appears to be working well

If you don't want Google to index parts of your site at all you might consider using robots.txt
It's up to you PhilBen. These settings control how search engines index your site. It doesn't really make a huge difference to how your blog works.
I'd be inclined to leave all three of those as <nofollow>. But someone else might think it was better to untick them.
