The pictures will be displayed in category view if you attach them to posts. This is the best method.

You would have to display full posts in order to view pictures inserted with <img> tags. You can try that on Blog settings > SEO > Category pages > Post contents > select either Standard or Full

Thanks for your help with the category view, it worked like a charm!! I can't post a link due to the nature of the content. Basically, on the right side of the screen, there is a list of categories. I click on each one and it takes me to a page full of content within the catetory I clicked on. They all work fine except for one category, which takes me to the main page of the blog.

Change short URL for that category, it's probably conflicting with blog short URL.
