I'm sure it will. I made 3 plugins that work in v5 only just because it's a lot more flexible than v4.

I havent updated Turkish translation since 3.3 : D pretty sure i have over 2k.

OT: My biggest expectation is more flexibility on custom fields and post types.

Because once you hve these two functions you can pretty much bend the whole thing into anything, and achieve many different things.
