I agree, I too have lost posts this way. Any chance of a Draft button on the post editing page. It could save as draft and return you to the editing page - it is what I have to do anyway. It could go next to the Files button.

that is a core feature in 3.x series...
if you are using 2.x there is a plugin for that too..

I thought it was, meaning I seem to recall a button or something like that for autosave. Which didn't imply to me that it would save every X minutes, but that if you clicked it you would "save as draft" and go back into edit mode on the same post. So you would have to think about it before it was too late I guess.
Are you saying it is not working in any way? Or did I hallucinate the button?

I think there is not "autosave" feature in 3.x, but only "save as draft"
Autosave would be a good addition to safe-as-draft ;)

yeah, it was a "save as draft & continue editing" button the one in 3.x.. Tblue was working on a "autosave" feature just like in gmail's but dont know how that ended up.Frankly, I havent tested that plugin entirely, but it should be sth similar

Thanks for this.
At some time I'm planning to have the error messages on the same screen as the post textarea.
