The categories trick that b2evolution.net uses is not a part of 1.6 or CVS, so therefore must be a hack applied to this particular skin. There are quite a few hacks in this installation, most of which are not obvious.

Like for example didja know the antispam keyword list is actually a blog? A multiuser blog where everyone who reports is either creating a new draft or editing an existing draft (or published or deprecated) post. It does a couple of tricks inside the actual blog, then somehow it magically gives you the titles of the published ones when you ask for the update.
