Yes, we still have a pretty long bug list to go through (and we hope to do it before the alpha release)

Well, this is super weird. I can't even edit my own posts/comments.
UPDATE: It looks like I can edit comments for some time. However how would folks edit their topics to update links, plugin/skin release dates, changelogs etc. ?

The antispam policy of this forum is that once something is published to public (vs community), it is no longer editable. Just like blog comments are no longer editable by their author once published on a blog.

Can we at least make the posts editable? It doesn't make sense to me.

Also [img] bbcode tags are not rendered properly, see the link above. Is it a security feature, and we have to upload images instead? If so, what about existing posts, can we render images there?

1) I made you and tilqicom moderators because you're asking for it despite the fact there are many bugs still in what should be available to moderators. So no need to tell me the moderator UI is clunky, I know! We're working on it!
2) As moderators you can edit posts with user level < yours, you can publish community posts to public and you can also change the status of spam from "community' to 'review'. Review is visible only for moderators. You cannot delete them directly because I want to see every single one of them before deletion. It is part of our research on antispam systems.
3) There should be a single button to put a post under review. It's comming!
4) [img] and [url] are gone. They are spam magnets. Uploading images are better. Links can be pasted but their destination cannot be hidden. I know the imported stuff needs some fixing.
5) Again: this forums policy is (for now) that published posts can no longer be edited by their author (they can be edited by moderators). Posts can only be edited by their author until they are made public by a moderator. We will probably revise this later (once we have a reputation system for electing trusted users) but for now it stays that way (which is equivalent to what happens when you post a comment on a blog).

Everything is clear now, thanks for your reply.

Note: when we have a little more time we'll add a feature for moderators to put one user and all his contributions under review in one click.

Ok, moderators now have easy buttons to "up or down" a post or comment to "public" or "review".
Next step: ajax versions of the same buttons. (and fixing the borders)

Cool, but with the reload (redirect), it kinda beats the purpose of having ajax.Speaking of which, will we ever have a front-end posting & editing in b2 ?
(thanks to sam2kb for reminding) Forgot that creating topics is creating posts, lol, so obviously v5 supports front end publishing

I don' understand what you mean with
with the reload (redirect), it kinda beats the purpose of having ajax
With ajax there would be no reload, just the colored banner would change.

I mean the action takes place via admin.php right ? and then it redirects_to=original_topic.So i get to back to the page i was prior to editing, but the page reloads after all
One more thing, try to add a new profile field in the forums skin. The layout breaks. I posted this to the bug tracker long time ago, still not fixed.
