I have spent some time reading other users problems with uploading, particularly images, which is what I would like to do.
I'm pretty sure I have set permissions correctly through the FTP software. I have even chmod 777 the "blogs" directory.
I think I have nutted down the problem and I am looking for help.
This is the site:
http://home.exetel.com.au/coopertonks/blogs/
As you can tell I am using the free webspace provided by my ISP.
The Problem:
I am trying to upload a small jpeg when I try it I get:
"Some file uploads failed. Please check the errors below. "
I check below:
"An unknown error occurred when moving the uploaded file on the server."
I am presumabaly uploding in the default media files for that blog that I have renamed "cooper" in the directory "a/". Stub Name is still "a" (should I change this?) (also the URL blog name is still "a" should that be changed?)
What I have found out though is that when I try to upload, using FTP, into the: "/blogs/media/blogs/a"
I get from the FTP software: Chmod failed! It may not be supported on remote server. ( I was trying to change the Chmod permissions for this directory "a" to fix the problem, even though it's already set at 777)
So the problem is either:
Serverside
They way I have configured the setting in the blogs
or something else I have not done.
I would appreciate if anyone could help. This seems to be a problem unique to the others I have read about.
Thanks
Cooper
OK...what I ahve also tried to do in the advance section of Blog Settings is to save an alternative directory on my site.
Problem is...it doesn;t seem to be holding after I press "save"
