Hi Bernard! Well, so far, Im (still) "studing" the b2evo system, in order to respond Yabba without getting a "do your homework" direct answer :P Yet, maybe it could be intresting to joint efforts between all the intrested parties in having such integration became a truth (so far, I handle to manage -thanks to Yabba- the integration between diff b2evo installations; something that I found particulary handy)
PS: Anyone did start something like this in the past? Which integrations where previously accomplished? Any examples?

Some more homework for you ;)
These are a few of the threads I mananged to dig up, they have some bits and bobs of information that may be useful

I've never used the AlternateAuthentication hooks, so I can't really give you more detailed information without playing around under the hood, but I did integrate smf and 0.9.0.1 ( or summat equally antiquated ) so it's definately doable

You might like to take a look at the LDAP plugin
There's also a post somewhere on the forums ( if I find it I'll link it ) which discusses sharing logins between a forum ( phpbb I *think* ) and b2evo.
Between them they should help you get started.
