Thank you so much for posting this. I have a blog nation with over 200 bloggers and the amount of spam comments and trackbacks they were getting was starting become crippling.

hi,
i'm very happy helping you.
can you help me with my problems with permission?
how can i solve this problem???
do you know if there is a version of "autoblog plugin" with permission on 755 instead of 777?
thank you..
This should work for you (we don't use it, so it's untested by me).
In the back office, go to "App Settings" -> "Plugins" and make sure that the "Basic Anti-SPAM Plugin" is installed.
After it is (or if it is already), then modify the settings for that plugin (click the little 'paper & pencil' icon near the right edge) ... and untick the "Allow Anonymous Comments" box.
This should make it such that only registered users (members) can leave a comment and the rest of the people in the world will only be able to shout at their computers in vain.
