IN Firefox I see nothing on the main page - in IE7 I see at least the squares with a red x where the pictures have been ....

So.... what is the path to your image files for each skin
I upgraded and all was fine however I don't run two different skins.
I'm sorry but I don't have a definitive answer other than the fact you seem to be trying to access an image file from two different base URL's.
I'm sure a guru will come along and I look forward to the answer as I also want to use that image gallery

I was just playing with the CSS right now, the template is back to normal now ;)
Originally I have the evoskin up and running.
Plus the Photoblog. Which worked fine before the latest upgrade.
I guess, that's the media file, you mean for the files?

OK, I just now got a code back in one of my earlier posts:
<a href="http://nicoleb.org/b2/index.php?blog=4&title=viewfahaheel-jpg&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1"><img src="http://nicoleb.org/b2/media/blogs/photo/Kuwait/.evocache/viewfahaheel.jpg/fit-720x500.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a>
and this is one that was only in a post on my main blog, but not linked to the picture blog:

Hi Nicole,
Please start by deleting prerendered item cache in Tools -> misc.
Second, search the /media/ folder and it's subfolders for the pictures. They are there, at least, they should be there, but just make sure that's the case.
Did you use a plugin for the photoblog? What button have you used when you uploaded the pics?

Your media directory looks a smidge empty http://nicoleb.org/b2/media/blogs/photo/

Media dir is empty :(
I've uploaded the files via the file manager either via muli upload or browse.
And the photoblog is the one that came with version 2.2 (the one before this newest one.
I guess by deleting all folders, they didn't say, keep the media folder somewhere safe, sigh.
----
OK,...., found the cache thingy...where did that stuff come from?
Anyhow,.... nothing back yet.
I guess they are gone for good, sigh...

Hi NicoleB,
You are right. It isn't clear in the Wiki. I will update shortly. It *did* say however that you should make a backup of the files before deleting. :>
I hope you did.
Good luck

Well, nope, 'cause that didn't help me last time.
I'll just upload them to my server in a diff. file from now on and kick that Photoblog into Nirvana again.
It's only three weeks of pictures, ;)
(For the second time.... :P )
Doesn't matter, cause I need to still get two years worth of blog entries and pictures from wordpress over here, because I can't get them on my host server first and then to my blog....
Nothing better to do ;)
Thanks for your help and yeah - maybe you should mention that media folder separate ;)

One hundred percent absolutely a manual page MUST make clear what will happen when upgrading. ALWAYS grab your conf folder AND your media folder before deleting everything from your server, but you are much better off grabbing a local copy of EVERYTHING on your server.
Also, and I don't know what the wiki says, but also make multiple backups of your database. For all the servers I play on there are two ways to back up a database. BOTH have advantages and disadvantages, and there is no way for me to tell what someone else's server will allow and not allow.
NicoleB I hope you have backups of your files somewhere. Scattered across your hard-drive perhaps? Anything you can find and re-upload will be to your benefit yah?

Better, Ed.
I just uploaded a whole bunch of my pics on my local webserver and will add them to the posts manually.
The next thing I have to learn is, how to get a backup up and running, but for this time this is Best ;)
Another thing that maybe should get in a FAQ is the fact that you need your MySQL Login Data.
That threw me off the path last time I did the upgrade ;)
Thanks & have a good New Years :)!

Hi,
I'm about to upgrade (and getting very excited about doing so) from 2.1 to 2.3. I have backed up my MySQL files and all the blog files/folders. Before I make that leap of deleting all the files from the web site and uploading the new ones I wanted to be sure of one thing:-
If after uploading the new 2.3 files and copying my back up Media folder content (which contains photos) back into the new Media folder - will the existing posts still find them?
I want to be sure before finding all the posts are suddenly devoid of any images!

Yes, no problems there as long as you keep the directory structure intact. So if you accidentally upload the media folder as; /blogs/media/media/blogs/userx/ it won't find the photo's. It must be /blogs/media/blogs/userx/
Keep a backup of your /conf/ folder. The database connection information is in /conf/_basic_conf.php.
Good luck

Hi Afwas,
Thank you for your reply. Upgrade went as smooth as I could possibly hope for. :D
I'm looking forward to tinkering round and customising in the next few days.
Thanks a lot!
Happy New Year.
Matthew
OK - after refreshing my PC, cleaning the cache, the pictures in the main blog are gone too.
Help?!
Please....!
:)
