Well, I installed it, tried it and my CPU and database are still fully intact.
In fact the plugin works a dream, funny thing is I had found this plugin a while back but disregarded it due to it being for 1.8 plus the fact that it didnt seem to do what I wanted.

Reading the overview after your recommendation, it clearly states that it does what I was looing for.
Man I need more sleep.
