My b2evolution Version: 2.4.2

I can figure out basic CSS changes (i.e. I did successfully change the blockquote features), but this one is beyond me. All I want is for the OL and UL lists to be regular size (or just not quite as tiny). A bonus would be to lose the indent as well but I can live without that.

I have searched for smaller em sizes in the CSS and tried changing them, but it didn't work.

I have searched for UL and LO coding issues, but nothing makes sense.

Any help would be appreciated.

hey, i couldnt get on exactly which area you want to change font, a screenshot would be helpful for me indicating which fonts u d like to change, then i might be able to help you in case someone else does not (no i dont mind being spare guy, i claim no wisdom, frankly i like being the first in the list starting from the last (: )

3 May 14, 2008 00:42

A bit more detail would help, as woud a link.
Looking at Afwas's sample site of the skin I can see no indents in sidebar ul's and the font size is far from small..
Like tilqicom, I'm a bit confused which is normal at this hour of the day :)

4 May 14, 2008 02:44

Okay, I was going to do that and got sidetracked. But it's not the sidebar ULs, it's in the content section. Here is the link. And here is what it looks like (using Firefox):

Forgive the extraneous piece of the text box in the upper right corner, I was having issues with my clipping program.

http://www.hudson2001.com/miscpics/zen.jpg

The ingredients list is straight text. The instructions are in <ol> and <li> codes.

5 May 14, 2008 02:47

And I just checked in IE7 and it appears the same way.

6 May 14, 2008 02:49

Here is the code from the post:

8 cups Finely chopped cabbage (1 head)
¼ cups Shredded carrot (1 medium)
⅓ cup Sugar
½ tsp Salt
⅛ tsp Pepper
¼ cup Milk
½ cup Mayonnaise
¼ cup Buttermilk
1½ Tbs White vinegar
2½ Tbs Lemon juice

<ol>

 <li>Be sure that the cabbage and carrots are chopped up into very fine pieces (about the size of rice kernels). </li>
 <li>
Combine the sugar, salt, pepper, milk, mayonnaise, buttermilk, vinegar, and lemon juice, and beat until smooth. </li>

 <li>Add the cabbage and carrots and mix well.</li>

 <li>Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.</li></ol>

<blockquote>The critical part of this coleslaw is the flavor-enhancement period prior to eating. Be absolutely certain the coleslaw sits in the refrigerator for at least a couple of hours prior to serving for a great-tasting slew of slaw.</blockquote>

7 May 14, 2008 02:50

Ok, so it's in the .bText div

In style.css add this and see what happens
.bText ol {font-size:13px;}

8 May 14, 2008 02:55

YAY!!!!!

Now can you explain why? LOL

Meaning, why did the font shrink? I thought it was a child font issue, like it took the style of all the text before it? (No, I have no real idea what I'm talking about, I'm trying to fake it.) :lol:

9 May 14, 2008 02:57

And if I wanted to get rid of the indent, I can just play with the padding?

10 May 14, 2008 02:58

It usually comes down to the dreaded "c" in CSS
ol has been defined somewhere else in the CSS at a smaller size, so you had t make it div specific.

What I suggested is a quick and dirty fix, it may be able to be defined elsewhere in a tidier manner.

I have to run but will look closer at the style.css file later for the Cascading ol :)

11 May 14, 2008 03:00

Okay, no need... it is working like I thought it should--I just couldn't find the earlier mention! It's fixed as far as I'm concerned...

Now...about getting those sidebars in a smaller font... ;)

13 May 16, 2008 20:45

Either I'm seeing numbers or your bullets look a heck of a lot like numbers. 1 through 4 for what appear to be steps in some sort of ritual? The list of victims sacrificed in this ritual do not appear to be numbered or bulleted though - only the sacred steps.

15 May 16, 2008 21:15

Try a super duper double plus hard refresh of the page - just in case. I'm seeing numbers in both Firefox and that other browser. Kinda like what is in the first image in this thread, only I don't see the box your image has in it's upper right side. The one with the checked checkbox.

Like CTRL+F5 to reload your style sheet just in case it helps.

16 May 16, 2008 21:48

I actually rebooted my system in the meantime, and I still get dots. I did a Control F5, and I still get dots.

Interestingly, I just tried on Firefox (unfortunately, not my normal browser at work) and I see numbers.

IE, yuckola.

17 May 17, 2008 00:01

Firefox and Safari on a Mac see numerals....

In your CSS you have ...

html>body .bText ul {
	margin-left: 0px;
	padding: 0 0 0 30px;
	list-style: none;
	padding-left: 10px;
	text-indent: -10px;
}

html>body .bText li {
	margin: 7px 0 8px 10px;
}

.bText ul li:before {
	content: "\00BB \0020";
}

.bText ol {
	padding: 0 0 0 15px;
	margin: 0;
	font-size:13px;
}

.bText ol li {
	margin: 0;
	padding: 0;
}

I'm not sure but I think poor old IE might get it's knickers on a knot over the cascade and multiple references to bText li

eg: html>body .bText li {
margin: 7px 0 8px 10px;
} followed by ...
.bText ol li {
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
}
