Optimism expects to rock :D
The blogrums really are just a mindset, blogs and forums hold very similar data, they just present it differently ;)

Find a stand alone forum, and skin it to look like your site. Create a link in your menu system that will just load the forum engine outside of b2evolution. That is the way I handle such things. I have seen Swiss Army knives that weight a ton and become useless tools. Sometimes it is better to have a few separate dedicated tools that each does a job well, than one mult-purpose tool that does a lot of jobs marginally.

Long term, we should try to cascade b2evo comments. I've seen other blogs that let you reply to a comment, and it cascades the conversation on the actual skin. Adding an "Email me when comment or reply is added" would also be nice.

I'm not sure what this integrated b2 Forum's status is.
Maybe it's creator will pop in and let you know.
