My b2evolution Version: 2.x

Hello,

I'm very new to b2evo and am currently trying to customise a skin for a client. The client does not want to have the 'Blog All, Blog A, Blog B and Linkblog' section of the menu. How do I disable it from an existing skin that includes it? The base skin I'm using is 'Ancient Years, as it had the most similarity to what I needed the skin to do.

I will be trying to add the HTML widget to customise the 'Home' section to point to the web site's home page rather than the blog's and using this to link to the other blog pages as it fits in better with the web site's home page navigation position and styling. I've seen how this is possible in another post, but any further help with this would be much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Hi Kaptain,

Welcome to the forums.
In Blog settings -> Widgets you can disable the Public Bloglist widget.

More drastically you can delete the top_menu container from the skins' _index.main.php file.

Good luck

Hello Afwas,

Thanks for the quick reply and welcome :)

I'm sorry for being so thick! How do I disable the widget? In the Blog settings window, I can only see 'edit' with CSS Class or DOM ID to be filled in or there's the 'Remove this widget' (with the big red cross!) option. Would either of these disable the widget, if so, what should I do?

In the index.main for this skin there's no top_menu container to delete.

Confused but still enjoying the b2evo experience!

Ahh!! Wonderful :D

Works a treat, thank you so much! I was a bit concerned about doing that in case I 'broke' something!
