My b2evolution Version: 3.3.1

As discussed in this thread there's a problem with uploading images: http://forums.b2evolution.net/viewtopic.php?t=19411

Considering that my blog has nearly 10 contributors, unless I can find a work around for this problem I'll have to give them all FTP access and explain how to use FTP to them. Anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with this?

I'm really, really regretting upgrading to 3.3.1 as it's been problem after problem since updating.
