Not that I know of. I think they are filtered out of the main post loop and I remember a bug being fixed around clicking on a permalink to an Intro post. It threw a nasty error :(

No good. I wouldn't care if I created new intro-cat posts, but I just edited the existing posts with comments.

I guess I have to hack the core again :(
