[3.3.1] Twitter plugin (SOLVED)

My b2evolution Version: 3.3.1

Hi,
I've just set up the Twitter plugin (bundled with 3.3.1) for the first time. the username and password are set correctly and when I publish a post b2 reports that the ping has been sent and my account has been updated with the post but nothing appears on my twitter page. I found a post from someone with the same problem and the reply provided a link to a thread on the forum which no longer exists.

I tried deleting and reloading the twitter plugin and the odd thing is that it came back already installed with the settings still in place, no option to reinstall on the plugins page. I also installed the PHP extensions plugin and the curl extension is listed. Interesting plugin though as there is some software I'm thinking of installing which needs curl and the Zend optimizer and now I know that my server can handle both. So thanks for that.
