chmod: cannot access `/blogs': No such file or directory

chmod 777 /blogs

I receive

the directory exist, and i tried chmod 777 /blogs with user and with root but i receive the same message:

chmod: cannot access `/blogs': No such file or directory

I appreciate any help as quickly.

/blogs is not the same as ./blogs
