[3.3] What will happen if i switch to base URL

My b2evolution Version: 3.3

Currently my site is:

www.sitename.com/blog/blog4.php

I want it to just be:

www.sitename.com

In the Admin section, you can switch to "Absolute URL". The blog has been in use for over 2 years now. Would I be risking the content if I made the switch?

Easiest way,
Move your files up to root and change your blog to "default on index.php" (urm, blog settings && general settings)

Then use htaccess to rewrite (301) /blog/blog4.php to /index.php ... you'll confuse the bots for a tad but they'll soon index the new home ;)
