Can you post the error please?
This skin will not work in b2evolution v2

4 Jun 13, 2010 18:42

seems nice.. i'd recommend you include a 2.x version, as there are way too many 2.x users out there

5 Jun 13, 2010 19:18

Then they will never switch to v3 ;)

6 Jun 13, 2010 19:22

Bet most of them don't anyway ;)

Btw - do you own Sonorth Corp?

I don't see a problem apart from spam links, which is not a problem too ;)

BTW saw your new project a while ago, but forgot the name and can't find it now :)

That's cool :D ... just didn't want to encourage the wp "sponsored skins" shite. I have no problem with you linking back to your own site/business interest, you did the work after all ;)

I know it's kinda spamish, but who cares about a couple of links in exchange to a great skin :). Anyone who doesn't like it may change or remove them, it's a free skin after all.
This skin was really hard to convert, it took me about a week. The result is lots of configurable settings, must see it ;)

11 Jun 13, 2010 21:01

just installed the skin and trying it out.. it seems you did put a good deal of effort in this one..And it's really going to help me understand how to build skin settings, and how they work..I am also thinking of using this one as the default template for the standalone skin directory i am planning to build

13 Jun 19, 2010 07:38

my error is
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /weblog/skins/mystique/_skin.class.php on line 639

but I take this.
array_walk($type_list, function(&$v){ $v = "'$v'"; });

looks works fine now...
but error comment forums :-/

14 Jun 21, 2010 02:01

Ok, the error is fixed. Please update the skin files
Download link updated.

18 Jun 25, 2010 08:29

arent you gonna submit this to the skin directory ?

19 Jun 25, 2010 08:32

I wish I could do this. The repository doesn't support 3.x-only and 4.x skins.

so i'd better start doing that skin directory of mine P: the domain will be b2skins.com btw.

21 Jun 25, 2010 08:41

Good luck with your skins project ;)

22 Jul 12, 2010 19:27

is it only me or the skin is buggy ?

Problems:
1. Posts not being paginated, instead displays it as whole.And despite the fact that it displayed everything already, still displays "more" even in single post mode.

2. Long pages (also posts possibly) gets truncated, and doesnt display the whole content no matter what..

Example :

http://www.tilqi.com/ozlusozler.php/thomas-alva-edison/thomas-alva-edison-s998aouml-zu-buyuk-fikirler-kaslarda-yatar

Explanation:

Büyük fikirler kaslarda yatar.<!--nextpage-->Great ideas originate in the muscles.

See ? the post is actually two pages, but it shows them all at once, and even if you are at the single post mode, it still displays the "more" text..

2. Example

http://www.tilqi.com/ozlusozler.php/al-capone-kapon/al-capone-tum-ozlu-sozleri#c192

3. How does it "relate" posts anyway ? That related posts embedded near comments is not properly functioning.

Have some other issues as well, but i dont know if it's just me

23 Jul 12, 2010 20:50

1. Disable all rendering plugins and find the broken one. Clear prerendered posts cache first.
You can see paginated post here http://demo.sonorth.com/blog2.php

2. All demo posts display excerpts and teasers in post list mode and full content in single mode.

3. Related posts get selected by tags, probably within the same blog. The default b2evo feature used.

24 Jul 12, 2010 20:54

I agree that related posts tab displays weird content... let me check...

EDIT: no errors here. Everything works good :)

sam2kb wrote:

speaking of which, i would really love to see a more accurate related plugin..By which i mean, one not depending on tags, but uses actual content to relate posts with posts/ads/etc.. sparks anything ? i am all in if you are willing to develop one, and if i can chip in anywhere.

sth like a combined score of:
tags + most used words in content + title words + other parameters that could make the results even more accurate

The plugin will need to search through the entire database (blog), count words in title and content, compare post properties, make some calculations on each reload! It will work even slower than my Advanced search plugin ;)

We can probably cache the results in a separate table and update them each time a post is created/edited/deleted, we can even do this with a cron job.

Sounds like a lot of work to me, I'm currently busy with [url=http://www.thumbshots.ru]website thumbnails[/url] project.

BTW you may want to check my another unreleased/abandoned plugin :)
It allows you to easily cross-link posts. It searches for specified keywords and links to either individual post when only one post matches or to a search results list if multiple posts match the term

Download [url=http://www.sonorth.com/travel/download/4BH6ISCBH5]Crosslink plugin[/url]

It doesn't have any GUI so just use the following syntax in posts

You can [easylink:cat, duck, some other, keywords here]click here[/easylink] to view posts about cats and ducks.

Agreed.Making that each time should put one hell of a load on the page.Caching makes sense.

Imagine how it sounds to me :D It's obviously a very complicated task to make such a plugin function smoothly.OTOH it sounds very useful and seo friendly to me.Maybe we can get it started sometime and see where it goes.

Good luck with your thumbnails project.Not to discourage you or anything, but how's it different than hundreds of other thumbnail shot website/services available ?

I'll make sure to test the plugin..Sounds useful and related to the "related" functionalities (:

It's the only [u]Russian[/u] thumbnails service that actually works, plus it has many advantages over competitors (mostly for East European and Asian users). Won't advertise the features here :)

i see.. definitely gotta have a domestic equivalent for major websites.That's why i am building that quote index, tilqi.com already, there's no particular quotes website other than the leading wikiquote.which offers no additional functions in terms of browsing quotes, it's basically just a simple archive.

This Skin is really cool and at the moment is used for my main blog skin http://www.j24bail.com/blog

My only gripe is that on your demo blog it shows a small preview then has the click to see more on my blog it shows all content which some of my post are extremly long and take time to load. if there is a way to make it where only a partial preview of the post is seen that would be great.

The web Preview plugin is nifty does pretty good job on most sites a few it can't render. and when you click the twitter link it opens in same window.

Shame it doesn't open in new window, but anyway keep up the great work.

Thanks for your feedback

if there is a way to make it where only a partial preview of the post is seen that would be great.

Go to Blog settings > SEO and select "Post excerpts" in "Main page / post list" section.

The web Preview plugin is nifty does pretty good job on most sites a few it can't render.

Can you please point to a post where the preview doesn't work?

and when you click the twitter link it opens in same window.

You can change it in index.main.php , line 58

class="nav-extra twitter"

replace with this

class="nav-extra twitter" target="_blank"

This is the first release of the skin, all bugs will be fixed in later versions ;)

33 Jul 18, 2010 00:10

The skin is updated.

Fixed: post date background gap
Fixed: links to gravatar images
Other minor bugs
New: Twitter link opens in a new tab

34 Jul 22, 2010 12:29

Just bringing my comment over from the extend section. (you put the wrong link to forums, by the way!)

You should widgetize the header so someone could put their banner/logo there and it acts as the blog title with its original click-able abilities.

Maybe also allow the blogger to choose the social networks they use so that more sliding icons can be placed (linkedin, facebook...)

Can author avatars still show up on the individual post page as well.

Also, as a chick I ask for pink as one of the color options Wink

Hi there,

I'm trying to embed a National Debt Clock widget in the skin which worked fine in my prior skin but not in this one. It seems a little bit like the skin is overriding the widget's color choices.

Any thoughts?

The widget I'm trying to use is here:
http://www.facingup.org/national-debt-clock

You can see what it looks like at the bottom of the left sidebar on my site at http://rossputin.com

But another widget from a different site had the same problem.

Also, can someone tell me how I might change the width of the sidebars?

Thanks!

39 Sep 08, 2010 20:06

Try this code, it overrides skin styles

<table width="165" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
  <tr>
    <td style="background:#28282E"><a href="http://www.facingup.org"  target="blank"  style="color: #EE9321; font: bold 11px Arial, sans-serif; text-decoration: none; margin-left: 5px;">FACING UP TO THE</a> <br />

  </tr>

40 Sep 08, 2010 20:08

You can change sidebar and main content widths in styles.css under /*** MAIN LAYOUT ***/ section.

41 Sep 09, 2010 01:08

The widget code worked great.

One other question for you, and I'm guessing the answer is in styles.css again, but I'm not an expert...

How can I change the layout of the stuff at the very top of the web page, i.e. the blog name, the sub-title, etc (such as font and font size), and change the background image?

Also, is there a way to use a different background image for the top than for the sides?

Thanks!

42 Oct 03, 2010 06:56

So far, this skin has everything I've ever needed. It's the best I've ever used, and it will probably make it to all of my blogs.

How's the header/logo addition coming? That's the only thing that's missing at the moment.

Good work!

43 Oct 03, 2010 15:32

You can change the top image by replacing the original /images/header.jpg with your own.

To add your logo edit the following code in styles.css

/*** LOGO & HEADLINE ***/

#site-title{padding:4em 0 3.6em 0; position:relative}

/*** LOGO & HEADLINE ***/

#site-title{padding:4em 0 3.6em 0; position:relative; background: no-repeat left center url(http://myimage.url/image.jpg) }

44 Oct 03, 2010 19:15

Awesome, that was just what I needed. Thanks for the help and the awesome skin!

45 Oct 03, 2010 19:52

Sam,

Thanks for the great skin and the great help.

You're the best.

47 Oct 05, 2010 19:17

Another question, and please excuse my amateur understanding of the code (I get by with help). Is there a way to remove the blog name from the stop of the skin (the Title field)? I have my Title field blank because it conflicts with the logo I put up, which replaced the need for the Title to appear on the skin. But having the Title field blank also causes other issues with ping and such. How would I keep that from showing up on the skin without using the method I've already taken (keeping in mind I've put my logo/header up there)?

Thanks again.

48 Oct 06, 2010 05:29

Edit the following code in index.main.php

<h1 id="logo"><?php echo '<a href="'.$Blog->get( 'url', 'raw' ).'">'.$Blog->dget( 'name', 'htmlbody' ).'</a>'; ?></h1>

make look like this

<h1 id="logo">&nbsp;</h1>

Can anybody help me to add a facebook pop up icon as like the twitter and rss icons at the top?? I badly need it!! Thanks in advance..

50 Oct 10, 2010 09:05

<a href="URL" class="nav-extra" style="background:transparent url(images/someimage.png) no-repeat left top;"><span>Facebook</span></a>
<a href="<?php $Blog->disp( 'rss2_url', 'raw' ) ?>" class="nav-extra rss" title="RSS Feeds"><span>RSS Feeds</span></a></p>

52 Oct 15, 2010 19:03

Hey Sam,

When I enable the "user tools" widget, it doesn't display "register" (including when I'm not logged in.)

Any thoughts on how to get that working?

(Since I'm going to require users to be registered to post comments, it's sorta important.)

Also, is there some way to remove the "Admin" link from user tools for people who are not logged in or are logged in but don't have admin privileges?

Best,
Ross

53 Oct 15, 2010 20:16

The "register" link will appear once you enable usee registration in global settings

You can create your own links with Free HTML widget

54 Oct 15, 2010 20:23

Hey Sam,

The "register" thing worked. Thanks for that.

How about only showing "Admin" for people who are logged in and have Admin privileges? (It's not that big a deal; if this can't be done, I just won't show Admin at all.)

Thanks again,
Ross

55 Oct 15, 2010 20:45

I've checked the code, the admin link will not appear if user is not logged in or if user doesn't have perms to view the backoffice.

Can you give a link where the "admin" link is displayed for visitors?

57 Oct 16, 2010 04:03

I don't know why the "admin" link is there.
Open /inc/widgets/widgets/_user_tools.widget.php and edit the following

if( is_logged_in() )
{
	user_admin_link( $this->disp_params['item_start'], $this->disp_params['item_end'], $this->disp_params[ 'user_admin_link' ] );
}

This should at least hide the link from visitors

58 Oct 16, 2010 16:35

Hey Sam,

I have the php file open and ready to edit. Can you tell me where to put that code?

I'd also still like admin not to show up for people without admin privileges...any thoughts?

Thanks,
Ross

59 Oct 16, 2010 16:38

Hey Sam,

I figured out where to put this code.

basically just added the "if" stuff around the existing admin display code line near the end of the file.

60 Oct 16, 2010 23:11

Make the code look like this now

global $current_User;

if( is_logged_in() && $current_User->check_perm( 'admin', 'visible' ) )
{
    user_admin_link( $this->disp_params['item_start'], $this->disp_params['item_end'], $this->disp_params[ 'user_admin_link' ] );
}

61 Oct 22, 2010 03:23

Hey Sam,

Thanks for your help off-forum... I finally found out I CAN register for this forum after all, the verification email was just in my spam folder... :oops:

I have another question if I may. There is no link showing to leave a comment. How would we enable that?

Eg: www.gigsninterviews.com

63 Oct 22, 2010 05:37

If you want, you can PM me admin login to your blog and I'll check what is going wrong with it.

64 Oct 24, 2010 03:56

Thanks Sam, very kind offer. As a first step I'll get onto the broken post links issue and report back.

65 Oct 24, 2010 05:26

Sam, thanks so much for your help... the links are now working beautifully. And thank you for being patient even though it wasn't an issue to do with the skin. It was great to be able to compared your demo blog settings, and use them to get things working.

All the best.

69 Oct 28, 2010 13:37

Hi,

I'm using your skin at http://www.insidesql.org/blogs/. The homepage aggregates most of the various blogs below this top-level. I noticed today that the category list on the right was not displayed correctly. I guess due to the number of list items the height was not adjusted correctly for displaying all items and so some were located "somewhere at the top" where the tab headers are. I fixed this now by simply reducing the number of categories, but is there any other way to deal with this issue? Maybe display some kind of scrollbar when the height exceeds a certain threshold? Sorry, if that's a stupid suggestion, but I'm no client developer, so I don't know if that's possible or not at all. :-)

70 Oct 28, 2010 19:49

Are you talking about the gray background? It's 2000 pixels height, if your list is long you will see a gap between top images and list items.

You can open this image in photoshop, make it longer, then upload to the server back.

Thanks for your reply!
Yes, that's the one I'm talking about. Surely this is a quick-win solution and one I will certainly apply. However, in the long run, I guess I wouldn't be the only one experiencing this issue. Wouldn't a code change, if possible, be a "better" long-term solution? Again, I have no idea if such a code change is feasable though. :oops:

Adding to the Mystique thread: for those looking to add a banner ad, such as from Google Adsense, sam2kb was kind enough to help me apply an ad to the top of the skin.

I had been using my standard Google Adsense code as Free HTML in the Page Top Widget container, which dropped the banner ad under my logo/page title. I wanted to put the ad at the top of the page, instead. So sam2kb suggested the following addition to index.main.php:

<div class="page-content header-wrapper">

how can i put adsense in body?

75 Dec 21, 2010 15:18

Go to Blog Settings > Widgets and create a Free HTML widget in either "After Posts", "Post Bottom" or Sidebar containers
You can also manually edit index.main.php file in skin's directory

76 Jan 26, 2011 21:56

I just installed this and applied it to my blog, but I am having a couple of problems, or things that don't seem to work. I am sure the error is my fault, I probably changes some setting a long time ago, and as a result it is messing it up.

First, the image for the RSS feed and the Twitter, the one where you hover over it and it will slide up, well those do not slide up for me. (I just doulbe checked this, it seems to be browser specific, it works in FireFox, but not chrome)

Second, when you click the RSS feed it shows the contents of the mystique skin folder

Third, the side tab widget thing, the one that has a tab button for categories, tags, archives, etc, well the tab images show up, but no content. If you click any of the tabs it will also show the directory of the skin folder. I haven't figured out a way to customize this through b2evolution. (this does seem to display in FireFox, but not Chrome)

Fourth, the top link at the bottum of the page does not work (works in FireFox, but not Chrome.

The link to my blog is http://www.rhinomangraphics.com/lightscribe

Any help would be greatly appreciated

78 Jan 27, 2011 23:06

Ok thank you, I had forgotten about plug in, it stopped working long ago after I upgraded b2evolution. (I uninstalled it and installed the new version, currently it is not hooked up to my theme so it won't be visible if you check for that)

So that seemed to fix the tab area not working.

But I still have some problems.
- The RSS Feeds buttons (both the one at the top, and the bottom of the page) link directly to the skin folder, showing the contents. (Do I need to setup the RSS on my own or should this work automatically?)
- The 'Top' link at the bottom of the page does not work for Chrome

Once again I appreciate your help.

79 Feb 11, 2011 00:13

hmmm... The links below which leads to the next page with the next set of post are ordering the post according to this:

http://www.blog.co.m/index.php/name/?blog=4&order=desc&orderby=wordcount&posts=5&show_past=1&show_future=1&paged=2

How can I change this to normal navigation which should be this:

http://www.blog.co.m/index.php/name/?blog=4&paged=2

It's kind of weird..... help please.

80 Feb 11, 2011 00:47

Problem solved.... I had a plugin in the Post Bottom Container and it caused some sort of interference with the links Below....

For interest sake... it was the mini stats plugin... I placed random items to fill the blocks to see what the layout looked like... any how... maybe this will help someone should they encounter a similar issue.

81 Feb 11, 2011 00:49

That plugin was released a couple years ago, there might me some compatibility issues with the current b2evo version.

82 Feb 15, 2011 06:44

Question. Due to another issue, my page for Archives does not work. However, the archives tab here does work. Would it be possible for me to copy that code into a custom page, and use that for my archive page? Where would I find that code in this theme?

83 Feb 15, 2011 06:47

The skin uses the same archives plugin. You just need to configure it.

There's really no difference between archives tab and archives widget.

84 Feb 17, 2011 21:19

Well, what code foes the tab use to display the archives? Honestly, my archives page doesn't work.

85 Feb 18, 2011 04:09

global $Plugins;
$Plugins->call_by_code( 'evo_Arch', array(
		'block_start' => '',
		'block_end' => '',
		'block_title_start' => '',
		'block_title_end' => '',
		'list_start' => '',
		'list_end' => '',
		'limit' => 20,
	) );

This code simply calls evo archives widget with some params.

New version 2.0 released

Lots of new features. See first post for details.

88 Jun 07, 2011 19:27

Yeah, I like it the most.

BTW there is finally a "reset to defaults" button in b2evo 4.1 to drop all changes to skin settings.

			  echo '<a href="http://www.linkedin.com/pub/'.$soc_user.'" target="_blank" class="nav-extra" style="background-position:-320px top" title="'.$Skin->T_('Me suivre sur LinkedIn').'"></a>';

Like your skin, thanks.

97 Jul 24, 2011 22:41

Thanks for the info. I'll update the skin.

@swhitear - go in to BLOG SETTINGS / WIDGETS

In the box titled MENU you'll see the list of things that are in your menu.

It's not immediately obvious but you can grab the REGISTER/LOGIN with a mouse click, hold, and move it up or down. Took me hours to figure that one out ;)

First let me say thank you for that great skin. :!:
All works fine except ...
. I like to place the sidebartabwidget under avatar and calendar but there is no entry in the widgetlist to change this. is this cause its JavaScript?

Maybe someone who knows can give me a hint

thx

micha
...found only "jquery.mystique.js" is this the Sidebartabswidget?

P.s. Wehen I Open on iPad I get errorcode:

anyone An idea what that means?

109 Feb 29, 2012 10:51

Hi,

This is a great theme, best on b2evolution, so well done. Does anyone know if there is still support going on for this theme though? I love it but have an issue that I cannot solve on my own. When using yahoo media player, there is a conflict such that the columns in the blog do not show at all. This ONLY happens in IE. Can anyone help, or is this project dead now?

Cheers

110 Feb 29, 2012 20:56

@mojo
Could you post a link to the broken page?

@micha69

This bug is fixed since v4.1.3

111 Feb 29, 2012 21:15

Thanks Sam2kb,

I had removed the yahoo code <script type="text/javascript" src="http://webplayer.yahooapis.com/player.js"></script>

now I have added it back in in a different place just before some adsense code and it seems to be working in IE. Is this a conflict do you think with adsense? I wonder if someone wouldn't mind just checking it out once to see if it is ok?
http://www.chileno.co.uk/blogs/blog1.php
The marker in the right hand column under the chilean flag looks odd in IE too but that's not a big deal. Thanks very much again - great theme.

112 Feb 29, 2012 21:21

The website looks ok in my IE. As for the sidebar, you may want to remove blog title and blog description widgets since they don't have text and only add spacing.

113 Feb 29, 2012 22:13

OK, great thanks a lot. Really appreciate your time and help.

114 Mar 01, 2012 22:00

oh ! i can do this , for the first time i can do this without any trouble . and This is the best skin for b2evo.. i Just love it.!! Thanks sam2kb

116 Mar 10, 2012 16:46

Hi, I wonder if anyone knows why me title and tag are not showing? I get this in the blog settings:Header [NOT INCLUDED IN SELECTED SKIN!]. title and tagline are both enabled. Thanks for the help. mojo

117 Mar 10, 2012 16:57

That's because the Header container is [NOT INCLUDED IN SELECTED SKIN!] ;)

What skin is that?

118 Mar 10, 2012 17:04

cheers, well it's yours, Mystique! That's why I was puzzled. In preview mode it shows up. I'm obviously doing something wrong...

119 Mar 10, 2012 17:22

What version ov b2evolution is that? Can you post a link to your blog.
Also on Blog settings > Widgets page click on reload icon in top right corner (if the icon is there).

120 Mar 10, 2012 17:28

Thanks for that. Well I'm on this version:

b2evolution-4.1.3-stable-2012-03-02

Yes I had read on another post outside this forum that reloading might do the trick. I did this and got the following report:

5 containers have been found in skin template «mystique/index.main.php».
1 containers have been found in skin template «mystique/_skin.class.php».
1 containers have been found in skin template «mystique/_item_block.inc.php».

Thanks.

122 Mar 11, 2012 14:43

Ok, I've fixed it now. I reinserted both title and tag into the skin settings and it seems to work. Maybe the reloading containers solved it.

I wondered about 2 other things:

1. I have a slider on the main website (diapo). Would this be fairly easy to implement in this skin? Would I just add the code to the main php file in the skin folder? What about the jquery?
2. Have you thought about a social button for googleplus, or would it be easy to make one based on the others?

Thanks a lot

124 Mar 23, 2012 13:16

Please give a link to your website so we can check what's the problem

You can try placing the code in index.main.php
jQuery is loaded automatically, you don't need to worry about it.

2. Have you thought about a social button for googleplus, or would it be easy to make one based on the others?

I'll add it in the next release

126 Mar 23, 2012 14:33

Thanks

http://www.chileno.co.uk/blogs/blog1.php

This is the blog but I have removed nivo slider for now. I would like to use it though, looks really good. Thanks for the help.

Ok, thanks I will try adding the diapo (maybe the camera version) to index.main.php if nivo is incompatible with Mystique (I quite like Mystique).

Thank you

127 Mar 23, 2012 15:20

The console is going crazy with a "a.ownerDocument is undefined" error.

I will try Mystique and nivo again on 4.1.3 seperately if the problem is either one of them or both of them being together

128 Mar 23, 2012 16:30

Thanks, it will be good to sort it out, as mystique is quite popular now.

Yup, the problem was using them both.Mystique.js has a few functions trying to fix effects for ie clashing with nivo slider.Not sure why the author didnt add the conditional before the fix though.See the solution here: http://forums.b2evolution.net/viewtopic.php?p=113224#113224

130 Mar 24, 2012 22:00

I'll update the skin to the latest upstream version, not sure when though :(

131 Mar 25, 2012 11:11

Sorry, I think I posted on the wrong thread earlier really. I see that Mystique 3.2 has a slider in it, which looks pretty cool. Can we use this version or is that something that you would have to release specifically for b2evolution? Thanks

132 Mar 25, 2012 18:22

That version is for WP.
b2evo version of this skin is a completely different product, they are not compatible with each other.

I will port v3.2 to b2evo some day

135 Apr 21, 2012 07:59

The only thing I've added is feedburner. Could that be causing problems? I have disabled all widgets in the sidebar -no change.

136 Apr 25, 2012 09:46

Ok, it's magically returned. I did not change anything at all so no idea what that was about I'm afraid.

137 Apr 26, 2012 09:19

...and now the title and followers have disappeared. Ok, so this is frustratingly unstable, can anyone help out here? Thanks

mojolazarus wrote:

there's a good chance your api limit is exhausetd.. Your twitter widget may be using anonymous api hits to get your info from twitter..

Are you using a shared hosting ? Because the anonymous api limit is 150 hits per hour, which is per IP not domain.

139 May 02, 2012 09:20

Thanks tilqicom, ok that might be it. It just seems that sometimes the link to my account and icon above in the twitter widget disappears. It has been fine since last post though...

I have another issue to deal with. The widget automatically posts to twitter. On the widget itself on the blog the twitter short url is given t.co.... and on twitter the long is given plus #b2p. Not sure what this last piece is. I know it's in the blog settings ($title$ $url$ #b2p). I was thinking of using bitly to shorten my urls. What do people think about that? Could I incorporate this into the mystique twitter widget? If not, what's the easiest way to keep the widget but stop it from automatically posting to twitter? Thanks a lot

mojo

140 May 08, 2012 06:39

It's b2evo twitter plugin that posts back to your twitter account, not the widget. Just disable the plugin.
Twitter uses its own URL shortener, b2evolution has it's own shortener built-in. Check Tools > Slugs tab or go to Posts/Comments > All, note the short URL next to [permalink] button

142 May 08, 2012 22:44

would it be possible to change the header text to a logo? I've have read that i can change the "header" img but I would like to keep that as it is.

thank you

Why dont we put fields for consumer key & secret so that every blog owner can create their own twitter application and have their own 350 per hour limit ?

Quick question...if anyone can easily answer I'd appreciate it, or just tell me if you know it's answered in this thread and I'll search tomorrow with more awake eyes...

I just upgraded to 4.x and installed this theme, but only one category is appearing for each post, though I know I have multiple categories on every post. I checked the Settings and have multiple categories allowed. It seems I have to be missing something but can't find it?

157 Sep 04, 2012 06:45

I believe it only shows main category in post list mode. However you can see all cats in single post mode.

Of course, you can change that if you want to.

I may need to make that change. I've PMed you. :)

Mojo

160 Oct 01, 2012 20:26

You can use the Menu container on the Widgets tab in backoffice. Just add a new Free HTML widget with the button code.

Something like this should work

<li><a href="http://whatever.com">About us</a></li>

161 Oct 01, 2012 20:46

excellent, thanks so much for your fast reply, I was scrabbling around in the index.main.php, done now:

162 Jan 17, 2013 18:26

hi I've got 2 problems that I would like to solve.
1. I have added the Addthis toolbar after each post. It seems like overkill to have the native one, can I remove it? Relatedly, the toolbar shows on the homepage after each post listing! Which I think is weird and anyway the link from the toolbar in this case would be from the homepage, not the post that it is attached to. Must be a bug? How can I force things so that the toolbar is not shown on the homepage?
2. Is there a way I can get a widget container just above the sidebar tabs widget? I want to put a follow me/like me button there, below the sidebar tabs widget is just too far down.

www.chileno.co.uk/blogs

Thanks as always for your great help in advance

mojo

164 Jan 25, 2013 01:28

to remove the "native one"; open your /_item_block.inc.php and find the part that says <table class="post-meta">...
remove the td :

 <td><?php $Skin->shareThis() ?></td>

to display only after single posts, and not on homepage:

<?php if( $disp == 'single' ) {
 // html mode ?>
<script>YourAddthisScript</script>
<?php } //exit ?>

wrap your addthis code with a disp single conditional like above.

Finally to add a widget container above your sidebar tabs, open your index.main.php, find the line that says $Skin->display_tabbed_widget();
and insert your container just above it, like so:

 <!-- /search form -->
              <?php
			   skin_container( NT_('Sidebar Above Tab'), array(
                        // This will enclose each widget in a block:
                        'block_start' => '<div class="$wi_class$">',
                        'block_end' => '</div>',
                        // This will enclose the title of each widget:
                        'block_title_start' => '<h3 class="title"><span>',
                        'block_title_end' => '</span></h3><div class="block-div"></div><div class="block-div-arrow"></div>',
                        // If a widget displays a list, this will enclose that list:
                        'list_start' => '<ul>',
                        'list_end' => '</ul>',
                        // This will enclose each item in a list:
                        'item_start' => '<li>',
                        'item_end' => '</li>',
                        // This will enclose sub-lists in a list:
                        'group_start' => '<ul>',
                        'group_end' => '</ul>',
                        // This will enclose (foot)notes:
                        'notes_start' => '<div class="notes">',
                        'notes_end' => '</div>',
                    ) );
				// Display javascript tabbed widget
				$Skin->display_tabbed_widget();

You will see "Sidebar Above Tab" container in widgets screen, if you dont, reload your containers.

165 Jan 25, 2013 09:39

Thanks a lot for taking the time to help tilqicom, that's great. I will try tonight. One thing about the conditional, the addthis code is just added in a free html widget in 'post bottom'. Is that still going to work? Thanks.

edit: so I tried a few variations on the conditional code and the 'post bottom' html (i.e. the addthis toolbar) is still on the homepage. Maybe if I add a conditional to the post bottom widget (or is that container?) Not sure where that is. Still wonder why that would be displayed on the homepage by default.

166 Jan 25, 2013 12:17

Yea the name "post bottom" kinda makes you think it will appear on the bottom of single posts.But yea i checked it's for every post bottom.
So if you wont need such functionality, just wrap the current container with the conditional.
_item_block.inc.php 180-183

if( $disp == 'single' ) {
// "Post bottom" CONTAINER EMBEDDED HERE
skin_container( NT_('Post bottom'), array(
		'block_start'	=>	'<div class="PostBottom">',
		'block_end'		=>	'</div>',
	) );
}

Hello! First of all, I love love love this skin, and the sheer amount of stuff I get to customize. I'm currently in the process of making my website "complete," but there's just one thing I'm finding impossible. I've removed a few features (like the Share This widget in each post, since I have my own buttons), and have moved the background images around and about, and have further plans to make it a different color entirely (Pink), but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to add another "jumping" button to the menu (you know, facebook, flikr, myspace, linkedin, etc). I have a Tumblr button all ready to go and tilted 45 degrees and everything. I just can't figure out where they're stored on the site so I can copy the code and add an image. I found a PSD file with all the buttons, but that can't be it, can it be?

Thanks for the help and support, and for the great skin!

Okay, so, yes, I figured out my tumblr butto problem, but now I have a new one. The little verticle bar (pipe, what have you), that separates the blog name from the tagline... where is that? I can't seem to find any mention of it in the index, skin class, or style classes. I think I might change the wayt the blog name/headline might appear, and that verticle line seems to throw things. Do you know where I can find the code for that?

/*style.css line 115*/
#site-title #logo a {

Heyo! I've got another question for you.

I really like the "Tabbed content" widget on the right of the page. I moved it around so that "top" posts are displayed first, then archives, categories, etc. That's no problem.

What is a problem is that when the "top posts" is highlighted (the star, which I've changed to be the default), the name of the posts are cut off. I have a lot of posts with long names, and they're not displayed in full. Example, my new post "How to Miss the Point of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" just says, "How to Miss the Point of the Hitchh..."

Do you know of any way to change it so that the posts display longer names before being interrupted by ellipses?

_skins.class.php Line ~ 483

Change "36" to how many characters you like

						'"><span class="entry">'.strmaxlen($pItem->title, 36).

Hello! :)

I love this skin and I use it on a blog (meuquintal.com). :)

Currently installed a new blog with version "5.0.5-stable released on 02/Aug/2013" and again I use the skin Mystique (www.aguasdelindoiaturismo dot com dot br - WTF?).

Need to manually translate the text of the button "MORE" Tag as appears in English, FULL STORY.
Where can I find this text?

The same happens with "Sending a Message" in the contact page.

I appreciate if you can assist me. Because it's been a long time since I changed the other blog and I don't know where were these texts.

Thank You!

That's a good question!
It seems like b2evo devs decided to upgrade skins directory, but something stopped them halfway.
