My b2evolution Version: Not Entered

(I am using the template "Nifty Corners" as a base)

Question 1;
I use my blog as a development blog for my website, on my website I'd like to create a notification of some sort for when the blog has a new post, or the date of the most recent post.

Question 2;
Where is the file that I can adjust the toolbar on the blog (Home, Contact, Log In)
