Are using one of b2evo default skins? Not all custom skins support intro posts.

Also how do you make sticky 'POSTS'

Select "Featured" option on the sidebar when you create a post.

Hi, I have tried several skins and can not get the intro to work in any, also I have noticed I can not log off whilst in IE and can not cut & paste using Firefox, yet can do all the foregoing with another blog.

The skin you are using can't display into posts. You will need to either [url=http://manual.b2evolution.net/Upgrade_from_2.x_to_3.x]update the skin[/url] or choose another one.
