My b2evolution Version: 3.3+

in your install instructions (from scratch) I find this instruction: chmod 666 /blogs/conf/_basic_config.php yet this file does not exist in the upacked or uploaded files from your download.

a file called _basic_config.template.php does exist.

After setting the file permissions as described in your text, I attempted to run the install.php script which failes. I assumed it was also looking for a file _basic_config.php whish is available.

I renamed the file _basic_config.template.php to _basic_config.php but the install script still failes to run, can you help please?

Version 3.3.3 stable and the URL is www.celticqueen.co.uk

These instructions need to be updated.

- leave /conf/_basic_config.template.php untouched, undo all changes (if any were made).
- create an empty file /conf/_basic_config.php and cmod it to 666
- install b2evo
- cmod the file back to 644

Hi Sam

Many thanks for that info.

I am still struggling with this install, I have followed your instructions yet the server is still complaining, the error log has the following;

[Tue Nov 09 02:30:05 2010] [error] [client 82.133.108.88] File does not exist: /home/celticq/public_html/500.shtml, referer: http://www.celticqueen.co.uk/blogs/install/
[Tue Nov 09 02:30:05 2010] [error] [client 82.133.108.88] SoftException in Application.cpp:256: File "/home/celticq/public_html/blogs/install/index.php" is writeable by group, referer: http://www.celticqueen.co.uk/blogs/install/

the install.php has permissions 755, so not sure why it thinks its writeable from group..

I wonder if anyone can shed any light please.

Many thanks

755 for directories and 644 for files
