It seems that the organization of a multiple blog website is fairly centered around each individual blog as opposed to the site itself and then the various blogs. For most skins, you'll notice that the window title matches the blog title. The large centered text at the top is again the blog title. This whole thing makes a site feel sort of "headless". There's a gap between the shortcut, bookmark, or link you click on or URL you type in and the site you arrive at and all it says is "All" everywhere and you look to get some idea of confirmation that you've actually arrived at where you wanted to go and... nothing. Of course, we amature web people could make the attempt to edit every single skin that we want to feature so that our desired logo, text or whatever appears at the top. What I would rather suggest is creating the notion of a "site" within the b2evo admin area which has its own identity and properties and the sites' blogs appear organizationally underneath that. Future skins would therefore allow for easier customization of the site's identity.

It would seem that I was beating my head on a brick wall... perhaps if I had read the documentation I would have realized that it's definitely possible to use an <img> tage in the long description. To obtain a 'site identity' I just used the same html for the long description of every blog on the site. For most skins this accomplishes in an easy way what I was looking for.
