Basically, i don't quite understand cookies. My question is:

Does the cookie actually store the username and password?

I'm wondering because I'd like to not have the password in MD5 everywhere, because of my LDAP authentication needs described above.

Obviously, having the password in the cookie as plaintext is not a good idea.
