The old url was
I have changed http://smvstudio.com to another hosting company and was so hoping to use the IP access to link my blog on the original server
I can reach the old site (but I do not know how to reach the blog) on the server using this server IP:
http://69.50.214.231/~smvstudi/
The files can be reached at:
http://69.50.214.231/~smvstudi/artblog/
But which one will bring up the blog?
Thank you so much for any help you can offer
Stella

That should get you your blog, but it's not. It's giving some odd error. Open up /conf/_config.php and change the baseurl to
http://69.50.214.231/~smvstudi/artblog
See if that fixes the error. What's keeping your from moving it to your new server?

<--- looking sheepish
I am not moving my blog because I have no idea how to download my blog to my computer to re-load it on the new host... (It has always been on the server and never on my computer)
If it was possible it would be absolutely wonderful not to loose all the entries :)
I really appreciate your input! I now have hope :)
Thanks Again,
Stella

Moving a blog is fairly easy. You don't have to lose any of your posts. It's a matter of backing up your MySQL database and reloading it on the new server. This link might help with that:
http://forums.b2evolution.net/viewtopic.php?t=4540&highlight=migrate
If you have any specific questions on that, I can help you. Once your database is resotred at the new host, you upload all of the install files and do an 'upgrade from previous b2evolution' install and you're back in business.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
If this works I will not have to pay the old host company each month just to keep my blog :D
Thank You!!!

I deleted the spam. I'm glad you got things working the way you wanted.

We'll need some more information to help you. What's the url to your new webspace? What's the url to your old webspace? If you don't have a domain name pointing to your old web space any more, then you should still be able to reach it with an ip or a temporary url. Ask your old web hosting company about this.
