The contributors are part of the linkblog, which is a separate blog that is displayed in the sidebar of your main blog. Go to the edit tab, choose the Linkblog, then delete the posts that list the contributors.

Go to the blogs tab, choose your main blog, then under Default Linkblog change the dropdown box to 'none'.
