Hello. I've checked over the available documentation, and googled my heart out.

Does b2evolution run on OpenBSD without major modification? OpenBSD's apache is run in a jailed enviroment.

Yes, it should work. Just try it.

I'm using mod_chroot myself for Apache on my webserver.

You should make sure, that PHP's mail() function for example works.
