I was wonderiung what is the easiest way to link to another page in my blog using a side menu? what file do i edit or can i do it from the admin area?

The easiest way is to use the linkblog. Make a post to the blog labeled "Linkblog". Put the text of the link in the title of the post and the url to link to in the Link to url field. If you main blog has a default link blog set (it does by default), the the link will show up in the sidebar. If you need to customize it further, then you can edit the php file that makes up most of the skin. It's located at /skins/yourskinnamehere/_main.php
