Get antispam via HTACCESS here!

I thought it'd be nice if I share the little effort with the community:

Instructions (Just in case you are not familiar with htaccess-Files):
- Download the file via right-click "save as" to your harddrive.
- Transfer it to the server into the root-directory of your blog. Use your favourite FTP-prog.
- Rename the file on the server to ".htaccess" (without quotation marks)
- Done.

This countermeasures reduced traffic caused by spam by 25-30%, resulting in 1GB less traffic. I will try to maintain a monthly update of the file and I hope it'll help you as much as it helped me.

yes, it appears it is, and given that this was the op's one and only post, i wouldnt count on a return.

I maintain a hefty .htaccess as well as beefy list of ip bans for anyone wishing to take that route. All publically available for the asking -- theres also a good deal of .htaccess info available via Google and already spelled out on the forum here.

My own list, and site though, wont be available until after midnight on the sept.12.
