What version of b2evolution and what version of Ality? Before 1.6 skins had a pretty good chance of working across multiple versions, but 1.6 was different about how skins worked. So if you've got an older version (0.9.*) with a newer skin it won't work. Same with the newer version (1.6) and an older skin. Both ways gives you the message you're seeing.
