Where can I find information on how to use these renderers in my blog posts?
I know about ticking them when you edit, etc. But what must I type and what are the results?

The only one I really know is BB code.
I've tried googling, but without much success.
But the rest?

 Textile (beta)
 Wacko formatting
 Wiki Links
 GM code
 BB code
 Auto Links
 Auto P
 Smilies
 Texturize

Most of these just give you another way of formatting text. The best thing is to use xhtml. It will display anywhere and there are buttons for the most useful tags in the backoffice. I think the renderers are for when you're used to one of these methods of formatting and you want to keep using it.

[url=http://www.greymatterforums.com/info/manual.html]GM code[/url] - This isn't a very good explanation of how it works. Basically, it's just another method for formatting text.

Auto Links - This just turns plain text urls into clickable links.

Auto P - Turns line breaks into <br /> tags and double line breaks around some text get <p> tags around it.

Smilies - Turns smilies into images.

Texturize - I can't find a link for this one, but it's more of the same.
