I'm not sure now because it doesn't get that far when I try intal now. It comes up with this error:
File 'c:\mysql\share\charsets\?.conf' not found (Errcode: 2) Character set '#33' is not a compiled character set and is not specified in the 'c:\mysql\share\charsets\Index' file
I guess I'll have to fix it first. Do I need to re instal?

Was it working before or is this your first install attempt?
Re-install your mysql server.
You want MySQL 4.1, and the Administrator program.

From what you posted before it does seem to be problem with your mysql installation, not b2evo...
If you are installing it on your own computer, try re-installing your mysql server. (use 4.1 with the administrator tool).
If it's on a remote server then contact your servers administrator.

Which version of b2evo are you using?
